Inernational calling terms that will come in handy if you use calling cards for international calls.

800 Number
A toll-free, universal access number for using your international calling card.
ANI
The number associated with a PIN; when dialing the access number, the system automatically associates your telephone number with your phone card.
Automatic recharge
A feature that allows the user to have his or her calling card recharged automatically everytime it reaches a certain amount.
Billing Address
This term refers to the address where you receive your bill.
Billing Increments
Also known as rounding, this is the rounded time you spend on a call. For example, if you have 2-minute rounding, 60 seconds of call time is rounded up to 2 minutes.
Calling Card Rate
The per-minute rate applied to your calling card when phoning to a certain destination.
Connection fee
A charge applied to every call that is made.
Local Access Number
A number in your city that gives you more minutes by using it with your international calling card.
Maintenance fee
This fee is applied to some calling cards on a weekly or monthly basis.
Mobile Rates
The charge for calling a mobile phone in another country.
Originating Call
This term refers to any call made from your phone line.
Payphone Fee
An extra charge applied if the call is made using a payphone.
Rechargeable
As soon as you use up your balance, you can ask your provider to recharge your calling card with an amount chosen by you.
